We need to Make Tanks from sheet stainless steel 304 and corrosion protection of surfaces with epoxy painting. Preparation of the metal sheet surface to be with sandblasting (with sand). Sand is a natural -97% Si.
Do you have experience in this kind of protection for stainless steel sheets? Will the stainless steel sheet surface be chemically stable?

We always paint all our vessels in SS (304-316) because we are by the sea and is very important to avoid SCC under insulation.

We have an spec for painting it and the surface preparation does not consider sand at all. (there plastic abrasive particles for blasting or inox particles) NACE and SSPC gives the spec for the surface rugosity.

We avoid any presence zinc over the SS vessel wall.
There are many painting companies that has paints specs and types for protection corrosion under insulation and marine ambient.
Merry Christmas
