Need to design stainless steel tube columns. (as well as tube braces) Searching the internet, I haven't been able to find any structural design equations specifically for stainless. Do I just use the AISC manual's equations ???

Looking to use 4"x4"x.180" Grade AISI 304L/304

I was given test result properties from the manufacturer:

Yield Strength Rp.2 =281 N/mm^2 (41ksi) (this is the Fy. correct? I'd never seen it with the Rp.2)

1% Proof Strength Rp1.0 = 333 N/mm^2 (What is this used for?)

Tensile Strength 614 N/mm^2

Any information on the design of stainless steel would be helpful.

Thanks!

Doubt it, refer prequalifications of AS 4100.

For use of SS in structural applications you should take a look at the design manual written by Finnish Constructional Steelwork Association. I picked up a copy from Outokumpu stainless at a conference. You might be able to get one through Stala Tube.
It includes equations based on the Eurocode. It would be a good reference.
