I need to know what 1Cr18Ni9 is. Is it 304 Stainless Steel? Also, what is 40Cr, and QT500-7? I think the QT500-7 is some kind of Bronze or something. Any help would be great.
Thanks.

1Cr18Ni9 is China Standard GB1220 equivalent tp 302 Stainless Steel. A cross-listing of Chinese & international equivalent SS's is at

40Cr is a Chinese high strength steel used in oil well drill pipe. Looks like "40" is 0.40 wt% C, "Cr" ~ 1 wt% Cr.
40Cr composition:
0.40 C, 0.95 Cr, 0.65 Mn, 0.18 Ni, 0.27 Si, 0.01 P, 0.01 S (Fe balance).

QT500-7 seems to be a Chinese performance standard for nodular cast iron:
"Continuous Cast SG Ductile Iron Bar
QT500-7
ASTM A536-84 65-45-12 / 80-55-06 / 100-70-02
JIS FC D45
DIN 1693 GGG40
BS 2789 SNG 27/12"
