Where can I find a cross reference to link 303 S.S. or X8CrNiS18-9 to A1?

I do not understand your question. What do you mean by A1?

Type 303 stainless steel (UNS designation S30300) is equivalent to the EN grade X8CrNiS 18-9 (Number 1.4305). There are a number of references that are available to show equivalent grades. I recommend the following:

Stahlschlüssel (Key to Steel), 19th Edition

or

Worldwide Guide to Equivalent Irons and Steels, 4th Edition

Page 453 of the 18th Edition of Stahlschlüssel shows a table cross-referencing this grade among the following SDO's: DIN, AFNOR, BS, UNI, JIS, SS, GOST, UNE, and AISI/SAE.

Thanks to TVP for the reply. I have the Stahlschlussel guide but not the ASM guide. I will purchase it.

Sorry for being too vague with my post. I'm a first timer.
Anyway, we have begun manufacturing (machining)parts for theme park applications. These parts have high liability requirements and must be supplied certified exactly to print. The problem is that the prints are European prints. This particular part requires A1 stainless. I thought that 303 was equivalent but needed a path to verify that link. Since my post I have found more info that may be helpful to someone. ASTM F738M lists A1 as a property class of stainless that allows 303, 304, and a few others. I think this will be sufficient for my certification.

As you have ascertained, A1 is not a designation for a stainless steel alloy, it is a fastener grade designation according to ASTM F738M. Type 303 stainless can be used to manufacture Grade A1 fasteners according to ASTM F738M. You should not require any other documentation. Best of luck on your project.
