The application is for a temporary earth connection on a busbar @1500VDC 20kA.

A colleague has been warned away from using stainless steel & steered towards brass or bronze.

I would understand if the reason was due to conductivity for the equivalent cross sectional area, but it was in relation to the "skin effect".

Can anyone please elaborate? Regards,

Skin effect is an ac phenomenon so I'm not sure how it applies to your 1500 Vdc application.
