I am designing a steel framed stair to repalce an existing one. The existing stair is about 20 years old and badly corroded in many locations. Existing treads are concrete filled pans.
Would like to use a different tread in the replacement stair- something that will not corrode as easily. Have looked at FRP, plate and grating. None seem to fit for the mutli-family residential project this stair serves, for various reasons. Either too slippery or too industrial looking.
Is there a stair tread option or material out there that I don't know about?
Thanks.
