I'm just going to through something at you. I don't know much about the computerized cars to give you an educated answer... Here goes... The computer in the car retains information on how the car should run at different times..also some "remember" different driver's habits..
If you disconnect the battery in most cars with a ECU.. they forget and have to be retrained by driving....
A shot in the dark..... how is your battery? is it going below voltage? If you can borrow a fresh battery drive the car for a day or so,then let it sit ???? three-four days see
if the problems persist...also any low voltage shorts..drains? A car driven daily might keep the battery charged... but a marginal battery might be leaking...
Good luck Dave

rusty,

You're not supplying enough information for a good diagnosis. At this point, a psychic would be challenged. However, you may do well by first cleaning the throttle body and throttle plate. It's easy to do and has a dramatic effect on idle and stalling. An old sock and your fingers work great for this. I'm not sure if you have a coated throttle plate, so I would suggest you DO NOT use carb cleaner or anything similar. Just clean the plate, around the edges is most critical, and clean the throttle body where the plate edges and bore come together.
This is a preliminary step to diagnosis, but it solves stalling issues on ocassion.

First sorry for my english.
1. I don't recomend to disconect baterry-is possible that the defect code don't deasepear. Is indicated to use a scan tool (apropiate for the car type) or a ALDL device.
2. i suspect a temperature sensor or a EPROM fault.
