Can anyone point me to a source for standard road cross sections used in Maryland? I need a section for a residential subdivision, 25 mph street.

DOT is a good starting point, but if you are creating a muni and/or county roadway, or intersecting one, you will have to meet muni and/or county ordinance.

Here in PA, PennDOT is usually more stringent than local, so you would be OK. Just verify muni and/or county compliance.

Remember: The Chinese ideogram for “crisis” is comprised of the characters for “danger” and “opportunity.”

Here at NDOR we use a minimum design standards. I was produced by the Board of Public Roads and Classifications. You can find it at our web site. If you are doing the work for the Maryland D.O.T. Then I suggest you contact them and see if you can get you hands on a copy. These items are provided to contractors free of charge or a small printing fee is required.
Good Luck,

MSHA won't help you much unless it is a State Road. You need to go to the Public Works Department of the County that you are working in.

I got the Standards from the County. Thanks to all who posted.
