What standard talks about installation of instruments ?

Manufacturer's installation guides generally cover the practices for proper installation.

I remember once seeing a standard that covered the elevation above grade for mounting an indicating analyzer/instrument so it could read by an operator, but I haven't a clue which one of the standards on the "List" covered that practice.

standard for what purpose related to instrumentation?

The manufacturer's installation instructions should easily cover the 1st one. Human factors would be about how easy is it to use/read in its location, how easy is it to adjust, replace, or repair
