I've been studying automotive ignition for some time and one of my projects is compiling a database of old Lucas Distributors (yea, I know...). I recently acquired a few original catalogues that have good data to include in the database so I'm spending a few hours updating
One piece of information in the source is "E.C.M. Curve Number" but no reference as to what this is. I have data from another source (Tuning Lucas Ignition Systems, Speedsport Motorbooks) which has advance curve data, but no reference to an ECM curve. In compiling the data it appears that ECM curves are standard ignition advance curves and it's very likely that there was some publication that listed the data.
Can anyone tell me:
*what ECM stands for,
*is there an ECM curve reference book,
*where I might find such a book?
