Hey guys, I have another pump related question. I know that diaphragm pumps and vane pumps are commonly used in pressure washing applications. My question is, is there a pump type or brand of pump that is common place in any type of system that is used to move water or fluid. For example, is there a commonly used and widely available pump (such as a sump pump) that is used for moving a fixed volume of water at a specific rate? Or, is there a positive displacement pump that can be used for some other purpose that can be used for moving a fluid with low viscosity at a moderate pressure (say 100-150 psi) with a low flow rate that is standard and can be purchased from a wide variety of vendors and sources. I know this question is very broad [wink], but if I could get some help narrowing down some areas that I can do some market research into, that would be very helpful. Thanks you all for your input.

Centrifugal pumps are by far the most common type used, and it sounds like they would be suitable for your application. Generally, you need to have a good reason to use any other type of pump.

I would suggest investing in a couple of good pump books and some research on the internet, you might be surprised at the wealth of information available on every subject relating to pumps, their use and applications, this includes the data supplied for free by pump manufacturers.
