Can anyone tell me about standard testing proceedures for the verification of the resistance of the rock(gravel) used in substatons for the high resistance layer in your grounding design?

thank you

Biddle provides some testing equipment and a free publication called Getting Down to Earth. IEE Std 80 is the "Guide for Safety in AC Substation Grounding".

Also post your question in the IEEE forum.

we have hired a contractor to perform the ground resistivity testing and they have provided us with the results. I am looking for a standard the I can site to get the rock itself tested.
after the rock results come in I can plug that into my CDEGS program and run the numbers.
thanks

since the stone is a purchased item I thought that ASTM standard may apply.
