Hi all,
Can any one tell me if SAE has come up with any new standards that expand on the basic color codes found in SAE
J1292 (Automobile, Truck, Truck-Tractor, Trailers, and Motor Coach Wiring). Such as including Ignition, and headlamp standard colors? I know Europe is using a DIN standard.

Also with respect to automotive drawings, is there an SAE standard for the sheet(aka cell) and page numbering or is that a question for IEEE?

Thanks for your help

My experience is that wiring color coding is barely there at best. I have found that 2 identical cars that were not the same model year would not have the same wiring color patterns.

Luck is a difficult thing to verify and therefore should be tested often. - Me
