Can someone give me an aerial view description of the differences between the following standards, with respect to wind? Are there any real differences?
-BS6399 Part-2
-ANSI/ASCE 7-05
-UBC'91 & '97
-IBC 2003

I'm looking for information as it relates to gas process equipment and related structural steel (as opposed to occupied or inhabited buildings, etc).

Thanks.

Main differences are likely to be the "safety factors", e.g. the Importance Factor/Risk Group. Other than that, the mechanics are the same (fluid flow problems). Maybe some other items such as new basic wind speeds that reflect the most up-to-date research. ASCE 7-10 should have everything you need; it isn't limited by use or occupancy.

Before you doing anything creative, make sure the code likes the artwork you are trying to wow the world with.
