Standing Seam Metal Roofs

I am looking for info on standing seam metal roofs, and havent any luck in my search. I'm looking for a manufacturer that I can order a catalog from that will tell me how often I have to fasten the metal roof, what substrate needs to be, what the fasteners are, max. spans, what are allowable loads, etc.

Anyone know who the leader in the Standing Seam Metal Roof industry is?

If you can find or borrow a copy suggest looking at NRCA Roofing and Waterproofing manual.
 
Fastener spacing on metal roofs is somewhat "site dependent". Since the metal roof is a "component or cladding", it requires structural analysis of its attachment by most codes and certainly those in the US.

Fastener spacing is determined by the uplift and the tributary area of each fastener. Anything you get from a catalog is likely to be very general.
 
Ron - You nailed it right on the head. I've got some screen wall/roof type things hiding the mech. equip at over 200 feet up. The C&C is rather high, and I'm concerned over the attachment of these panels and how tight my purlins/beams need to be spaced, etc. I was also concerned if the standing seam can even withstand the wind pressures (almost 50 psf).

LPPE...one other point, considering your parameters...you'll need to check both the pullout capacity of the fastener and the PULLOVER capacity of the sheets. Under high uplift loads, the pullover capacity often controls.

For standing seam clips, the shear capacity within the standing seam would need to be checked as well as the shear capacity of the clip hem. Remember, when the standing seam buckles, the clip disengages.

Net result of all of this will be to set the spacing of the purlins closer!
