I have a building that will have two standpipes, one is an existing combination standpipe (in the stairwell) and the other will have hose valves only (this will be located in the corridor in hose cabinets). There is only one full height stairwell for the entire bldg.
There is one other existing stairwell that only goes from the first floor to the lower level. It has an existing hose valve on the first floor and the basement level.
Am I required to include the standpipe that only supplies hose valves on the first floor and the basement in into my calculations? Are these hose valves even required for a partial stairwell? If not I will remove them. There will be other hose valves within the required distance of the partial stairwell.
It will change my demand from 750 gpm to 1000 gpm if it is required to add this hose valve in the calcs.
Thanks in advance.
