Has anyone encountered an error message stating that "STAR has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."This is only happening when the Global Contact is set to "No Penetration" while trying to analyze an assembly. It will run when the contact condition is set to "Bonded", but this is not the correct condition.

Appreciate the help.

Yes...I have had several STAR errors. After contacting tech support they suggested the following:
1. Pack and Go to a local drive (I had already done that but they suggested it so here it is)
2. Verify that you have write access to the folder you are working in.
3. Verify that you have admin rights on your machine.

Those did not really help...the last one:
4. Update to SW 2010 2.1
solved my STAR error problems...hope that helps.

Don't forget to run an interference chack before you start

What OS are you using?

What solver are you using?

We had this a lot on an XP x64 machine, never got it fixed. There was nothing wrong with the models because they ran on other machines. Tech support are useless.

You may also be using the wrong solver for the types of analysis, try switching to direct sparse.
