starting with nx5 I have ever thought how to use unsew.
I found a nice video on youtube from VD (thank them)
I started to rework the example an d found out that I cannot sew new faces closing the open body to ao solid body it only results in sheetbody ( Nx6.03mp2).
What must I do to get a solid body result sewing an unsewed faces?
thx in ad

The video actually shows how would do that at the end.

Mind you you could have just created the sheet and patched it on in that example to get the same results.

... I want understand and use it for my workflow.
I have a workflow where I extract all face from a body and replace some faces (one or more) . Then I sew them together and in most cases I get an solid body result.Starting with unsew I removed the face I want to recreate. Added new faces and sew them I only get an sheetbody result. ???? Why
Its a closed sheetbody.

Check the model using Analysis>Examine Geometry (select all faces) and look specifically for "Sheet Boundaries". If any show up you don't have a truly closed sheet body.

@mmadlin,
believe me I have done all examinations relating to the problem normaly result in sheetbodies

It works for me, sewing a sheet to an unsewn body and getting a solid as the result. However, you need to check...

Preferences -> Modeling... -> General(tab)

...and make sure that the 'Body Type' option is set to 'Solid'.
