Good day, forum

There is some hazard of static electricity during steaming and purging of a process system.
21.6.3. STEAMING
... The steam used should be dry as it leaves the nozzle; wet steam should not be used, as it can generate static electricity even in small equipment... There is also the hazard of static electricity, and in some companies it is polivy for this reason not to permit steam cleaning of large storage tanks which have contained volatile flammable liquids.

21.12.9 INERTING OF EQUIPMENT
... Carbon dioxide has a tendency to form solid particles. In the case of cylinders, this creates a risk from static electricity. The use of the cylinder gas is not advised for this reason...
Can anyone share more information concerning static electricity during purging and inerting of process systems?
