Hey,

I'm running som postbuckling analysis of an webframe. I've used static riks and introdused an imperfection. The analysis complete sucsessfully, but my problem is that I don't know how to find the buckling load. I have applied a moment of 1 MNm and want to see what maximal load may be applied. Does anybody know how to find this? And is it possible to plot force-deformation curve in abaqus?

Plot the load proportionality factor (LPF). You should be able to find this in the History XY plots (I think). You can generally spot the buckle point as a kink in the LPF curve where the load reverses.

Don't forget that the LPF needs to be multiplied by the applied load to get the actual load.

Hey, I have another question. If I run analysis with 50 increments and the highest LPF is in increment 34, does that mean that this is when the structure collapses? From the stress plots it seems like the structure collapses at increment 50?

The peak or kink in the LPF curve will tell you where the stiffness of the structure changes. This will generally be the load at which the structure will begin to buckle or collapse.
