Dear all,

We have several Westinghouse generators, type 2-102x202, 370 MVA, H2 inner cooled, made in the '70s and the 80's. Siemens has recently issued a Product Bulletin "PB2-10-0012-GN-EN01" in which they recommend to perform NDE on the stationary blade rings of the generator blower. This stationary part of the blower is made up of airfoils welded to rolled segments.

We have not found any problem in these stationary blade rings so far, but we intend to start doing the NDE on them. Does anybody know which material are the airfoils and rolled segments made of?

The Siemens Bulletin also shows the solution developed by Siemens, in which the segments are not anymore made up of airfoils welded to rolled segments, but are machined from a single piece of material. But I am curious if anybody else has developed other solution. Have you found any problem with this stationary blade rings in your generators? If so, how did you repair it? Would you be willing to share your repairing procedure?

Regards
