Hello,
I am running a linear static analysis on a spherical bearing assembly model. The 'no penetration' contact condition is applied to most faces but I have been careful to have adequate restraints.
The solution looks good. However, as I modify the mesh controls to increase the DOF and achieve convergence as the DOF approach 700,000 I get the error message "PCG iterative solver stopped. Status code: 8 FILE_ERROR. No result saved"
Software: Windows XP 64bit, Solidworks 2008 x64 edition, cosmosworks
Hardware:Intel Xeon 5160 @ 3GHz, 12Gb RAM
Results are good so far, the convergence plot (stress@point vs DOF) is almost level. I just need to squeeze a few more DOF out to get a confident result. Please help!!
I can post more pics etc... if needed. Please find a picture of the error dialogue and the pcg_convergence plotter.
Cheers
James
