Can anyone tell me what may be causing this error? Is there a resource that provides a list of error codes and definitions? I visited the Solidworks site and struck-out using their online help.

ERROR:
PCG iterative solver stopped
Status code:9 MATRIX_SINGULAR_OR_INDEFINITE
No result saved.

What I'm modeling is an motor's endshield assembly that has a bearing and shaft. The bearing OD has a small slip fit into the the endshield's bearing bore. The bearing ID has VERY tiny gap to the shaft. When I initially modeled this the bearing was a press-fit to the shaft, but it kept erroring out despite using the "shrink fit" contact type. So I increased the bearing's ID to be .0001 larger than the shaft OD and removed the shrink-fit type. I then had to apply a controlled mesh to the bearing or it would still error out. The model is set to "no penetrations". Now that I've done all of that, I get this new "Status code: 9" error.

Any advice as to how to resolve this or improve the model to work around previous errors?

I've had that error a couple of times before. My suggestion, is to try and figure out the 'one' thing that's causing it to hang up - and figure out another way to do it if absolutely necessary - delete it if not.

But the gist of it: that error message is almost absolutely useless. I think it might make sense if you were a SW programmer.
