I need to design an =% type valve for use in controlling steam. I cannot select one, this is extremely custom due to application therefore i require custom trim fabricated by our cnc/shop.
What detailed design literature may i purchase that describes the physics of pressure & flow for throttling valves?
I have university texts and Fisher control valve handbook but i need detailed designing information specific to valve trim design.
Cavitation & flashing is not a concern - the big issue is balancing pressure for our small pneumatic actuator.

If you tell us the flowrate, temp, pressure and pressure drop and why you think you need to design your own valve then maybe we could help you more. For steam I would guess that there is nothing that has not been done before and that there are several existing options to choose from.

My opinion only.
Good Luck
