Hi all , there is a method to get the steam flow need to clean in place and sterlizate a given volumen at a vessel ?
It is a 85 litre free volumen.

The temperature to reach shall be 121 °C.

I have to determinate the flow and pressure of the Clean Steam Generator.

It depends upon whether or not you require overkill approach. As a universal rule of thumb, 30Kgs of steam is considered for 1000 Liters (or 1 M3) volume. This for a sterilization time of 20 Minutes. So your flow rate will be 90Kgs/Hr. Generally you can get the temperature of 1210C at 2.1 Kg/Cm2 abs. but generally 2.5Kg/Cm2 abs. is used.

If your sterilizing temperature is 1350C, the sterilization time becomes 3 Minutes.

For steam sterilizers, total flow rate of 2.5Kgs/Hr is used for a volume of 27Liters at full loaded condition and the flow rate for chamber and jacket is 60% and 40% respectively.(The only proof is that I have my thumb well in place[wink])

Note: Steam pressures can be obtained from steam tables.
