Steel beam connection

Hi all
i have an overhanging steel beam with two intermidate spans and short cantilaver span 1 meter lenght.
at the end of this cantilevered span i have a beam with depth more than the depth of the overhanging beam where this beam should be carried by the overhanging beam at the end of cantilaver i calculated the number of bolts required and checked the shear connection for all checks (the are conected toghter trough of the web of both using two angles)

all checks were safe but i do not feel comfort that beam with smaller depth carry beam with larger depth

anyone have notice or recomendation or objection on that ?!

Any beam must have a connection which is at least as deep as 1/2 of the beam's "T" dimension. If you meet this criteria for the supported beam, and you checked shear and bending at the cope of the supported beam, then this should be acceptable.

thank for reply but excuse me what the "T" dimension mean
you mean total height or clear depth between flanges?
 
If a larger beam is framing into a smaller beam, I often change the size of the smaller to at least match the depth of the larger beam. This is both so it looks right and gives confidence to those people putting it together as well as it often simplifies the details.

The associated cost difference is often little if any.
 
well Jike the connection between the two beams is hinged (shear trabsfer) the smaller beam at its end carry the larger one from its end so no moment transfer
 
another question
i have a steel beam and the connection between this beam and columns must be be moment connection (both column and beam are I shaped)
the question is that the width of the beam flange is greatter than the width of column flange (In side view of this connection the base plate and beam will appear a bit outisde the column)
Would it be a good choice to make normal moment connection using head plate?
