hello friends,

I have one problem so i would like to ask you something.

I'm searching a steel to be used for injection molding machines.

Here the specs:
Form: bar max 45 mm diam.

It has to be resisting at impact of hot material 800°C (today we have to use a coating of the die).
This temperature is reached only at the moment of injection, not permanently.......

Hardness of coating 1200 vickers.

Must have good resilience too.

Today we must use a coating. However we want to use only a steel without coating....
Do you have a designation to suggest ?

..or any additional help..

Thank you very much

I presume that you are molding plastics, with fillers.
I don't know how close you can get, but call Crucible.
The CPM grades have some great properties, CPM 15V is about as hard as a tool steel can get.

Corrosion never sleeps, but it can be managed.

What is the material you're injecting? Is this a metal (die casting) injection molding machine, or polymers? Check out the link:

There'll surely be something there you can use, but depending on the specifics of your application, a coating may still be necessary.
