HI,

I'm setting up a simulation of a steel grate inside a cyclone. The steel grate is a structural member for an internal funnel and is stiffened on its lower end.The sheet is held between two flanges. What would be the best way to model this to maintain equivalent stiffness and avoid contact problems? As of now, the problem throws up contact errors and does not converge. Additionally, I ran a modal analysis to ensure all bonded contacts were correct.

Thank you

You may clamp grate to simulate flanges, i.e. fix al DoF. I suppose that flanges are thicker than grates and therefore more stiffer.

Thank you @Karachun. A part of my problem was in defining a correct pinball radius for the contact.
