Can anyone give their views on internal joint protection of welded steel pipe less than 600mm diameter.

For larger pipes, we can physically apply concrete line internally to protect the joints.

I know of no economic solution for the internal protection of small diameter welded butt joints. For diameters less than 600mm I specify spigot and socket (bell) type joints with fillet welding of the socket against a ring on the pipe barrel.

Talk to 'Spinello' in New Jersey. They do a lot of small water main lining.
