I'm designing a steel platform that will have electrical equipment on it. The platform is located very near the beach, so will see significant wind load during it's lifetime.
Below is a picture of similar platform. My platform is going to have an electrical transformer and a ~14'x9' skid mounted building on it.
I have used ASCE's Chapter 27 to get the wind loads on the structure; and I have used Chapter 29 to get the wind load on the "rooftop equipment" (the transformer & building.)
My question is? How do I mix these two chapters together for my load combos?
Chapter 27 has 4 load cases to consider. Should I combine the chapter 29 rooftop equipment into these load combos?
