Hey Guys,
I'm doing a shade canopy with steel posts embed into concrete footings. The uplift loads aren't high(600 lbs or so per post) but I'd like to know if the column can resist it or will it be pulled out of the footing? I know you can weld a baseplate on the bottom of drill rebar through the post but just wondering do you really think that's necessary with this load? Is there some way I can prove it's OK without that?
Thank you!
