Steel pressure pipe - water supply

we are considering a steel pipeline with pressures of up to 40 Bar and diameters 600 to 1500 mm. The pipeline will be buried and carry raw water.

I am looking for advice on the need for thermal expansion, pipe jointing and corrosion protection.

Can anyone point me at any good web sites or publications.

Sounds like you need prestressed concrete cylinder pipe--a thin steel "leakproof" spiral-welded liner, protected by a layer of cement on the ID and concrete on the OD, with a spiral wrapping of high-strength steel wire for the prestressing.

The concept of this method is very good, but there have been numerous field failures caused by corrosion/other problems of the prestressing wire.

The problems are easily solved if care is taken and the pipe production is monitored by a knowledgeable person.
