Steel Price Comparison

Could anyone please advise on the approximate price/lb for 1" x 1" square bar stock in the following materials?

SS 17-4 ph
SS 416
Steel 4340


Assume a minimum of 5,000 ft of 1" x 1" bar cut to 5" sections.

The base price for Type 416 should be ~ $0.90/lb. The base price for 17-4 PH is $3.10/lb. This is based on information from AK Steel (March 2006). 4340 should be less than $0.90/lb, but I do not have any reliable data to share. Try contacting large distributors like EMJ, Ryerson, etc.
