Steel type for burner nozzles

Is there any non-exotic (that is, inexpensive and readily available) stainless steel other than type 310 which could be used for a burner nozzle? We´d like to test another type of steel to see if it last a bit longer, our current nozzles last a few weeks at the most. The main problem is high-temperature degradation. The nozzle feeds coal powder into a furnace, nozzle temps are estimated at around 300 degC. We are working to better protect the nozzles and better ways to cool them, but want to look into other steel alternativfes as well. Thanks everyone.

Go to the Rolled Alloys web site below. We have used RA 253 for our PC units with good results. It appears to be a modified 310 ss.

I have been making burner nozzle castings in 310 grade.These are used in cement plant kilns .

Anything better than 310 will be a real step up. My suggestion is to look at 600. This is a Ni/Cr grade that really has great high temp oxidation resistance.

Now, if you rtips are failing because of a corrosion mechanism that you have failed to mention, tehn all bets are off.
