Step and field output request

Hi
I model concrete wall subjected to blast, using CDP and explicit analysis.

*In Step option I set Max. Time increment
*In field output request I use evenly intervals
*In history output I use every n time increment

Is it right?
I'm confused because I try to think how abaqus will calculate or how it will present results to me

No need to set max time increment, I would leave all defaults in Incrementation tab. Output frequency settings depend on your preferences. You can leave default settings or change them in case if you need particular output saved more or less often. Just keep in mind that this affects the database size.

The problem is that if I dont change, i dont get smooth displacement-time curve
I want to calibrate my model with refined mesh and not too many increments

That is why I want to understand it
