Does anybody have a magic method of importing a STEP assembly into Pro/E, and making a part file from the information?

Although I can import the STEP assembly into a valid an solid Pro/E assembly, I then can’t import the STEP file into a Pro/E part without some of the geometry becoming corrupt and thus converting to surfaces. Are there any config settings to sort the problem out?

I have the problem in 2001 and Wildfire2.

Many thanks

Dave

When you import/open the STEP file it will prompt you with what file type prt, asm, or drw
