Hello..

I need to convert an UG part file into and STL file. I usually have no issues with this at all, except for this time. When I try to export the STL, I cant select the body at all. Even worse, there is no warning dialog box to steer me into the right direction to fix the problem. Any one have any ideas??

Thanks

If you're working in the context of an assembly make sure that your 'Selection Scope' (second item from the Left in the Selection Bar) is set to 'Entire Assembly'.

Hi

I found a way to fix the problem. When the "enter file header information" dialog box came up, I entered a few words, and this allowed me to highlight the part in order to export the STL file. Usually I leave the header info blank. Not sure what this is even for?

thanks!

The header info can be used to pass along man-readable information inside the .stl file. This information can be used to pass relevant information about the part being created or perhaps a PO number if you're using a service bureau or a customers name if YOU'RE the company performing this as a service. It's strictly optional.

Which brings me to asking, exactly what version of NX are you using?

I just rested NX 7.5.5.4 and I had no problem whatsoever in creating an .stl file even if I did not enter anything into the header dialog.
