STL files to solid bodies

Anyone know how to import stl files and convert to solid bodies to do some CAM?

Just did a quick search for STL and came up with this

Unfortunately, all a STL is, is a faceted body. Nothing you can do with it. Get IGES or Parasolid or STP.

In NX 4 there has been an enhancement made to the 'Refit Face' function that will allow you to select a faceted body as a target to fit a face to. This can be used as a limited type of 'reverse engineering' function to convert shapes that are presented in a facetted format into a free-form surface.
