I have a client who wants to use a product that is new to me. The product is manufactured by Stoam Industries and consists of metal studs encased in polystyrene foam. (website It appears to be a panelized system. Most of the photos on the website show the product used as non-loadbearing wall panels. Apparently it is widely used for residential construction and there are implications that it has load bearing capacities, although I've not found data for that on their website. I can't tell what, if any, load capacities or lateral load resisting capacities exist for this product. planning to contact the manufacturer for info, but wondering if anyone has used this on a project and if you have any comments regarding it's use as a structural load bearing/shear wall system.
