Storage cells/tanks for irrigation water. Any particularily good ones

I need an underground cell or tank that will collect and store rainfall on the park area to be used for irrigationl. This sustainable measure will help reduce the burden on conveyance system and water treatment plants. Information on ones successfully used in the past would be of great help.
