Hi,

After analyzing a model in ETABS there is an option which gives story shear directly. I am wondering if there is such an option in SAP2000 too ? If not how to calculate story shear indirectly in a way which is not quite time-consuming.

Regards,

Dear Fariborzgh,
the best option is to make a section cut. First of all, you should go to:

Display/Show Forces and Stresses and select the EQ load case.

Then you should got to:

Draw/Draw Section Cut

With this option you can make a cut anywhere and find the resultant forces, including the story shear. Regards,

Sebastian
