Dear colleagues,
I'm trying to simulate hexagonal honeycomb sandwich (core and 2 skins) in ANSYS Workbench. By changing several geometrical parameters I should find which part of honeycomb vibrate more for certain natural frequency (i.e eigenfrequency ). For this, I should find how to monitor strain energy of core and 2 skins. Is it possible to do so in ANSYS Modal analysis or how to do such task?

Your answer is very important for me

Many thanks and best regards,

Perhaps this is what you're after:

1. Analysis settings: "Yes" for both Stress and Strain in Output Controls.
2. Solve
3. Click on 'Solutions' branch and find the 'Worksheet' button near the top menu
4. Under the bullet 'List Available Solution Quantities' look for what you're interested in
5. Right click on the row to "Create User Defined Results"

I can't find the documentation for it but it appears ENERGYPOTENTIAL is strain energy. Do post here if you can confirm it. Otherwise you could try to calculate it via User Defined Results Expressions.

Kind regards,
Jason
