Been working on an extrusion process simulation, and we're interested in the strain energy density of the extruded material, PTFE. Problem is, the model simulates PTFE material extruding against stainless steel bodies along the length of the ID and OD. Also, I assigned SOLID186 brick to the stainless, SOLID187 tetra to the PTFE.

Here's the script put under Solution tab:

/post1
esel,all
esel,s,type,187
etable,sene,sene
ssum
*get,my_Energy1,ssum,0,item1,sene

I'm just trying to get the strain energy in the PTFE and not stainless, have tried:

esel,s,mat,1
esel,s,mat,2
esel,s,type,187
esel,"named_selection"

etc. etc.

It is ouputting 2.7e-5 for sene for all elements, but I cannot trust it.

The solution output states 187 is not a valid element type nor 1 is valid material id, and instead just grabs the energy from all elements. The command reference manual clearly states it will grab strain energy results from a selected element type and sum them up. This should be a two minute scripting exercise, but does not recognize any ,type, or ,mat, commands.

Have tried named selections of bodies and to no avail.

What is going on? Thanks.
