Hello,
I have a question regarding the Program ABAQUS. I have a bridge model I did not create myself and want to use it for my research. The cross sections are defined as arbitrary cross sections and beam elements are used. I want to extract strains at a specific location and I get 6 different values. Meaning I extract the axial strains E11 and ABAQUS plots 6 different strain graphs. How do I know how they are calcualted and where they are located within the cross section. I thought for beam elements the strains were averaged over the cross section. Can you help me with that?
