one of our users has a flat pattern on a drawing sheet which is dimensioned. He has then added a second view to the sheet which he wants to section, however as you can see by clicking the link, when he attempts to create the section view, it screws up the flat pattern in the other view. Why does it do this, and how can I stop it from happening?

Many thanks.

Best regards

Wow, I never seen anything like that.
I can only suggest something.
Move the flat pattern to another sheet, then add the section view, and after that move the flat pattern back to that sheet after the section view is placed.

It was done on our live system using NX4. I have seen it once or twice before a long time ago. Very strange :-|

If you used NX 4.0, that was before we even had a Flat-Pattern option in NX Sheet Metal. What you described was for all intents and purposes, not supported. If this only happens occasionally, I'm not sure that if there's anything we can do for you even if we were able to reproduce it on demand since NX 4.0 is no longer fully supported (with big fixes). I would recommend that you move as ASAP to a more modern release, preferably NX 7.5.
