Hello again. My nozzle alignment tape shots are looking like obrounds. It only happens with the 7.5" lens. The 5" is fine.
The last time I did it the 1st shot was round but after I adjusted it, it came out like the pictures. I tried changing nozzles. Put a new lens in. Put a different size nozzle in. Lens is not in crooked. Nothing seems to change it. It actually still cuts ok but its hard to center the nozzle. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Try unscrewing the nozzle and sticking the tape to the nozzle body. Do another shot like that and see where it is. Your alignment may be way out off to one side. Adjust it to center then replace nozzle and fine tune it from there.

try turning down your Power in nozzle centering program, if that doesn't work take head off then set it down upside down and center nozzle holder just by making sure the gaps on all four sides are pretty even then put a large nozzle on there like a 3.0 single and get that centered then center the nozzle you will actually use,,, ive seen them so far off that they were just centering a reflection and not the actual beam......[lightsaber]

Day is almost done here but I will try those in the morning. Thanks again.

Well I did a tape shot with the nozzle off and the beam was right in the middle. A round 1/16" dia. hole. Put the nozzle back in and everything was fine. A nice pin hole for the alignment again. I did turn the power done a little bit so that might have helped.

For comparison mine is set to ( Bystar 3015 5Kw )
Pulse width, single pulse 20
Laser power, single pulse 20
That gives a 1/2 mm hole in the tape.

Good to see your back on track

Ours is set to 550 power, 40 freq. and 25 duty cycle. Our normal hole is .008". So the bigger hole made no sense. But for whatever reason it's back to normal. Don't even get me started on how many times I get a sensor or z wire break alarm that after resetting it, it works fine. Like magic.

yes I think your power was just set higher then normal. With me it fluctuates, sometimes I have to go and up and sometimes bring it down and when im centering a 4.0 double for my aluminum I go way lower on power [bandito]
