Hoping for a bit of advice. I wish to strengthen a bearer which rests along its entirety on a brick wall which in turn rests on concrete strip foundation. My concern is the section of brick wall marked in green (450mm in length) giving way due to to soil erosion below footing and the bearer too become inadvertently cantilevered by 450mm .My over catastrophising brain wants to address the possiibility. I have 2m of 75mm equal angle 8mm thick i wish to bolt along the length of bearer. I was going to coach screw or bolt the angle to bearer. Any advice on spacing of bolts /screws and there size? Any advice greatly appreciated for this emergency fix whilst i seek further inspection in the week ahead.
