Hi @ all,

I'm a stress eng. with approx. 1 year experience but only on fixed wing AC. Since I have a new job, where we produce some rotorcraft UAV's, I have to do stress calculations of each part of the rotorcraft. Unfortunately I couldn't find any literature dealing with the topics of stress calc. of rotorcraft components like Niu etc. since it is more complex due to vibrations and dynamical behavior of the AC. Can anyone give me some information or hint, where I can find related literature for self-study?

Thank you very much in advance

Best regards

DerGeraet,

You can also go to the ASSIST and DTIC websites and look up many technical reports and general specifications for rotorcraft and aircraft (military ones).

This is just a start. If this is for civilian rotorcraft, then you really have to go through FAR 29 / CS 29. It's nothing like FAR 25, in many places.

Here is a set of very comprehensive helicopter engineering handbooks from the US Army. They were published in the mid 70s but the information is still good. Go to this link and search for "AMCP 706".
