I have a situation where I need to add anchors to an existing stem wall. I can't drill in and epoxy threaded rod without cutting through existing horizontal rebar. What I think I need to do is chip out some of the existing stem wall all the way to the footing while leaving the existing rebar intact then add new anchors such as Simpson SSTB's, and either repour or use cold pack concrete. What I am worried about is the integrity of the new pour. How do I avoid cold joints that will just break free under load. The uplift at the anchor point is just over 2400 lbs.
