Hi:

I need help, about how to input data for a pipe stress analysis in a buried pipe, 12", with casing and inside of another pipe (16"). This is for a pipeline, crossing a river about 45 ft & underground like a 9ft under a bottom of river.

I have all the info of ground for the module of buried pipe in Caesar II. I have triaxial UU essay result's of ground for each side of river.

Thanks for the support.

Best Regards,

Luis Felipe Cadena.

This really isn't a question that can be answered in a Forum. You're really asking for consulting. Isn't there anyone at your company that can help with this? Have you reviewed the CAESAR II documentation on Buried Pipe analysis?

Here in South america, there are few people who makes pipe stress analysis, ans in Ecuador less, actually I do some analysis, but I studied some books for mysef, and reading papers and help of Caesar II, I also take the basic course of Caesar II with a modelosoft instructor.

If you can guide me through this consult, I am very grateful with you.

Best Regards,

LFC

Start with a simple model, perhaps a long "z bend", and bury that. Go through the input, the soil specification, and bury it. Review the output to make sure everything makes sense.

Once your comfortable with this, build your model. It sounds like you have a jacketed system. I'd suggest building the core piping, duplicate that to the jacket, bury the jacket, then go back and add the CNODES to connect the jacket to the core.
